Flavors of Fall

In typical fashion, I over-committed by helping open another business, launching not one but two blogs (and neither well, I might add), and attempting to keep my head above water with grad school, which I fall more and more out of love with all the time, but that’s neither here nor there. What is here – despite days on end of the most unseasonably hot weather in recent memory – is FALL! Don’t confuse my exclamation for excitement, I’m a summer girl through and through, however I’ve made the transition to jeans and I’m not turning back, so the weather is welcome to change starting yesterday. Thankyouverymuch, Mother Nature. Along with fall come some unique brunch dishes and drinks. Apple Cider Mimosas are among my favorite autumn apertifs. What are yours?

Nine dishes to help you build the perfect fall brunch menu
My distaste (no pun intended) for sweet potatoes is palpable, in fact it’s almost vulgar, so imagine my reaction to seeing the vegetable featured prominently atop the list of fall brunch foods.  Yuck. 😣 Don’t get me wrong – every Thanksgiving my sweet mother has tried – valiantly – to disguise their mushy, weird sweetness among marshmallows, brown sugar, and a host of other things that would make a dentist’s jaw drop.  And yes, every single dish tastes delicious!  How could they not?!  That texture though…😖 I digress.  Here’s what looks amazing to me:  Apple Bread (classic), Eggs in a Hole (rewind back to middle school Home Ec class), and Cranberry Delight (because my kidneys need it). 💗

Why isn’t this already a thing in Lexington?  We have Restaurant Week, Burger Week, Pizza Week, Crave, and probably other things I don’t even know about!
